10th Place Finish for Jeremy at Gateway

In a pit filled with sponsors, fans and friends, Jeremy took the “04″ to the finish line 10th in Saturdays 5 Hr. Energy 250 at Gateway International Speedway on Saturday.
Two great practice sessions gave the team an idea of what kind of car they unloaded at the track the previous day. Starting 24th, Jeremy quickly moved up to 14th position where he maintained his pace thorough most of the race. Jeremy showed his skill and talent as he quickly got out of the way of a multi car crash that took out over 9 cars- cars positioned before him and after him on the track. He continued to shine, running next to the best of the best and took over the lead on lap 164 which he maintained until lap 169. The thrill of leading a NNS race was just what the team needed. The fear of running out of gas was looming, as Jeremy continued his way in first place. Making the decision to call him in for gas, he left his lead lap position and went in. He went back on the track 1 lap down, but was in the right position to get the wave around and continued his way back up the track to his career best NNS finish. Gateway proved to be good for Jeremy as he was interviewed by ESPN2 and given some great air time during his leading laps. Usually, the smaller teams do not get recognition
as they fight against the cup guys. No recognition unless they run the top 10 or wreck.
As there are no Nationwide races for the Halloween weekend,
the team will be at the Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Challenge on Saturday the 6th of November.
We would like to thank George Boudreaux and Tony Morevac and their guests for their support this weekend. Thank you to George Boudreaux for the GREAT food.

Nationwide Series Breakdown: 5-Hour Energy 250

Bryan Davis Keith · Monday October 25, 2010

Underdog Performer of the Race: Jeremy Clements While ESPN spent ample time following the lap 103 disaster dissecting Danica Patrick’s path through the carnage and how she just barely kissed the wall missing everything, very little time was spent reviewing one of the most impressive saves the Nationwide Series has seen all season, with Jeremy Clements skirting down three lanes on the track to completely miss the wall, the wreck, and everything in between. With a top 15 run preserved, Clements moved on later in the event to lead six laps (the first he’s led in Nationwide competition and the most he’s led at any national stock car racing level since leading 27 in ARCA competition at Chicago in 2007) and score a 10th place result, the best of his career and his first NNS top 10. Pretty remarkable for a team running on half-tire allotments with little to no sponsorship.
