Bristol Motor Speedway 2011
16th place finish in Bristol, Wreck in California, On to Texas!
Bristol Motor Speedway proved to be a second time charm, as Jeremy brought the #51Chevy Impala home to a respectable 16th place finish on a track that is known to eat up cars. Auto Club Speedway was another story as a tight race car brought Jeremy to a 31st starting place. He moved up the field quickly into 23rd by the 4th lap. Highest spot was 19th, running towards the front when a cut tire sent the #51 into the wall. Although damage was not critical, the axle of the right rear tire lost it’s cap sending the axle out on to the race track .Their race day ended on lap 91 causing disappointment to the team. The team did lock itself into the field in Texas by staying in the top 30 of owners points after 5 races.
Sorrow came after the race as Jeremy and the team were notified of the death of their beloved uncle, brother and team mentor, as Gary Clements passed away from a massive heart attack at the young age of 57. Extreme gratitude goes out to Jack Roush, as he had Jeremy and his father Tony Clements flown immediately back to Spartanburg SC to be with family. The team is heading out to California for the weekend’s O’Reilly 300 to be held on Saturday April 8th.
