Clements COT Race Ends Early
In a small shop such as Jeremy Clements Racing, much of the work preparing the cars for the races is done by a small crew and Jeremy himself. It was a week of fury getting the COT ready for the Jalepeno 300 at Daytona. A week to get the borrowed car put together, sent to the paint shop and decaled. Not to mention the engine, trans, shocks, etc… BUT they did it, and the car qualified and made it into the race. The race that the commentators were sure to be crash fest. Surprisingly, the field was calm and Jeremy moved up rapidly from 36th to 19th place where he stayed a good part of the race. With less than 20 laps to go, Jeremy started experiencing some mechanical issues and brought the car in 10 laps early.
Not a finish they wanted or expected, but none the less, a finish that brought the “04″ Impala home in once piece and not a scratch.
It was also our last race with Saxon Group aboard. Sadly, Saxon Group has joined the millions of Americans that are trying to keep their small business alive in these trying times. Saxon’s has been a wonderful , loyal sponsor, who was with us all last season and for all the races this season. We would like to thank them for their generosity and wish them the best of everything .
The team is heading out to Chicagoland Speedway for the Dollar General 300 to be broadcast on ESPN Friday July 7, 7:30 pm.
