Jeremy Clements is Racing for a Cause in Iowa
Sponsorless yet again for this weekends race at Iowa Speedway, Jeremy has decided to turn the tables and give the hood of the Clements Racing Engines #51 Chevy to a very deserving young man. The hood this week belongs to Ricky Springer, a remarkable 9 year old from McDonough Ga. Ricky is affected with a disease known as Eosinophilic Colitis. In 2009 Ricky started an awareness campaign called “Racing for a Cause” which has educated over 3 MILLION people about Eosinophilic Disorders. The APFED / Racing for a Cause logo, in honor of Ricky, will be on the hood this weekend.
Jeremy became involved with Ricky and Racing for a Cause last year when Jeremy joined the Racing for a Cause Team, supporting the campaign by putting a small logo on the door post of his car. Since then they have become “buds” and have appeared together at the “Racing with the Big Dogs” Event in Georgia and most recently at the APFED Patient Education Conference in South Carolina.
Since May Ricky has been tirelessly pounding the pavement raising the money to sponsor the #51 APFED / Racing for a Cause car at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 3rd. Tired of watching Jeremy race without sponsorship, Ricky decided to raise the money to support Jeremy, as well as help create awareness of eosinophilic disorders. Imagine Ricky raising money for Jeremy to race! He is remarkable.
The #51 races under the lights at Iowa Speedway Saturday August 6th for the US Cellular 250.
