Jeremy Clements Prepared for Nashville Return

SPARTANBURG, SC (August 16, 2006) – Following a strong run at Gateway,
Jeremy Clements and his #3 Harrison Workwear/Saxon Company Chevy
team prepared for a return visit to Nashville to try and redeem a blemished
finish. Clements was running second with less than ten laps remaining
in the Music City spring race when he ran out of fuel and was relegated
to a disappointing 29th place posting.

The team struggled in qualifying but made the potent field. With a driver
like Jeremy, he makes up in race performance what they leave on the table
for conservative qualifying. In fact, in his last four events, he has
advanced an average of 13 positions. The #3 steadily worked into the top-10
and was running sixth with green flag pit stops cycled through.

Clements, along with several other teams had troubles on pit road with
infractions or an untimely yellow. With a smooth, determined focus, Clements
worked his way back in to the top-10 and was the first car just off the
lead lap. He repeatedly attempted to regain the lost lap but had to settle
for the glass ceiling in ninth place.

We got pinned a lap down doing a pass through pit penalty and that
killed us, stated Clements. We were sixth before that and
definitely had a car capable of a top-5 finish. I worked every restart
to try and get that lap back but 9th is as high as we could get in our
situation. It is another top-10 and with no brakes and clutch problems
at the end, Im happy to bring it home still together and ready to
fight another day but it is disappointing. Hopefully we just have a shot
this weekend (Michigan) to get a finish that matches the performance.

Clements hopes to keep the momentum going with another strong run at the
upcoming Hantz Group 200  at Michigan International Speedway
which will kick off with practice on Thursday, August 17th, and Pork Pole
Qualifying is slotted for 3pm EDT. The green flag will drop on Friday,
August 18th, at 5pm EDT and you can catch it live on SPEED.
