Kimmel holds off young talent for ARCA Victory

Associated Press, May 23, 2003

Concord, N.C. - Frank Kimmel had no problem holding off the younger talent after Kyle Busch spun out of contention, winning the ARCA race at Loweís Motor Speedway on Friday.

Kimmel beat Jeff Fultz to the finish line by 0.884 seconds, and Spartanburgís Jeremy Clements finished third in his Chevrolet.

Kimmel, the ARCA series points leader, finished second to Busch the past two races. But the 18-year-old younger brother of Winston Cup star Kurt Busch spun out exiting the fourth turn with 13 laps to go in the ADG 100.

ìHow about these kids?î Kimmel said. ìThey were running really good today. You win races by circumstances sometimes, and weíve lost that way. Today, we won one.î

Rain postponed the race from Thursday night and forced Kimmel and others to make additional changes to car setups since the 67-lap race was run during the day.
